It has already been five weeks of nail-biting thrillers in the shortest format with the Indian Premier League hitting new highs every day. Among the ten teams, few are sailing easily towards the playoffs while others are struggling to even perform on a consistent basis. Snatching a win from the jaws of defeat has now become a forte of the Gujarat Titans and on the other hand, Mumbai Indians are yet to open their account this season.

Week five concluded with a rather subtle win by Lucknow Super Giants over Punjab Kings where the former got an easy victory by 20 runs, helping them get to the third spot in the points table. This week saw some low-scoring games turning into nail-biting thrillers, all thanks to the last over drama that T20s have been promising over the years now.

So far this season, we have witnessed winning streaks taking a hit every second match and turning into a losing streak for some of the teams. Keeping this in mind, let us take a look at the overall ratings of all the teams at the end of the fifth week of IPL 2022:

10. Royal Challengers Bangalore – 5/10

Royal Challengers Bangalore did not get a single win under their name this week. They started their week with the worst batting performance of this season, getting all out on 68 runs in 16.1 overs against SRH. Virat Kohli’s nightmarish form continued when the prodigy got a golden duck. The wickets fell so fast that other than two middle-order batsmen, no other player even crossed the double-digit mark in the first innings.

A total like this on a high-scoring ground like Brabourne was shocking and SRH chased it down with 72 balls to spare. A nine-wicket defeat made a major impact on RCB’s net run rate. Their next clash was also a low-scoring game which they lost to RR by 29 runs. Rajasthan was asked to bat first at the MCA Stadium, Pune. A decent bowling performance limited RR to 144 in 20 overs where Riyan top scored with 56.

RCB’s poor batting continued and the team got bowled out for just 115 runs. At the end of the day, it is just a game of cricket but not for Harshal Patel, his behavior against Riyan Parag wasn’t applauded by many. Two defeats in two matches with NRR taking a hit has placed RCB at the fifth spot on the points table.
