The Indian Premier League (IPL) is undoubtedly the biggest and arguably the best T20 league in the world. Players are shifted around different teams in different years for different reasons. In fact, there are very few players who’ve played for just one team throughout their IPL careers.

Hence, at times, it is tough to keep track of players who appear for short duration in certain teams. They aren’t even noticed. Mumbai Indians (MI) have had a few of them, who have gone under the radar. These players have become popular but when they turned out for MI, no one really took notice.

Here are five such cricketers who played for MI in the IPL but not a lot of people know about it:-

Stuart Binny was one of the few seam-bowling all-rounders that India tried during their away sojourn between late 2013 and 2015. He was constantly in the mix across all formats. In fact, the Karnataka all-rounder holds the record for the best-ever figures (six for four) by an Indian in ODI cricket.

Everyone knows about Binny’s stints in the IPL with the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). From 2011 to 2015, he played for RR and was one of the regulars as well. After they got banned for two years, he turned out to represent RCB and was a crucial member of the side that made it to the final in 2016. In 2018, he was back with RR but has been constantly in and out of the team.

But little do people know that Binny made his IPL debut with the Mumbai Indians (MI). It was MI’s final league game of the 2010 edition and they threw most youngsters in the game and hence, Binny got to make his IPL debut. The all-rounder batted at No. 8 and scored eight off five balls and also bowled an over where he conceded nine runs.
