Former India all-rounder and commentator Irfan Pathan is much known for his philanthropic actions which he keeps coming up with time and again. After announcing his retirement from Indian cricket, he took up cricket commentary and analysis. However, apart from these things, he is always up in some or the other social work and latest one came as distribution of solar lights in a village named Bakrol.

Bakrol is a small village located in Gujarat and Baroda (Gujarat) is the hometown of Pathan. Pathan talked about his initiative in a small clip posted by him on his official Twitter handle. He was accompanied by his elder brother and former cricketer Yusuf Pathan in this noble deed.

In the video, Irfan can be seen explaining the use of solar light to the people of the village and later posed with them for a photograph. In the video, the former cricketer could be seen talking to one of the local men in the Gujarati language.

“We went to this village called bakrol. There were about 25 houses that had relatively low electricity cos those houses were secluded. So Ratan Kaka called those ppl at his house and we distributed these solar lights to them, it was a fulfilling experience,” tweeted Pathan.

Irfan Pathan made several contributions during the COVID-19 crisis

It has to be noted that the Gujarat cricketer was seen taking a step ahead a lot of times during the COVID-19 crisis. He distributed free meals and masks in his hometown and his initiative also reached parts of Delhi. Later, their foundation made efforts to donate oxygen concentrators while India battled the testing situations during the 2nd wave of the virus. There was an acute shortage of medical equipment in the country and the Pathan brothers came up to make all the possible efforts.

Apart from all this, the Pathan brothers run a ‘cricket academy of Pathans’ in their hometown where children are provided coaching for future prospects. It was only sometime back that it was announced that the academy will give free coaching to underprivileged class.
