Jofra Archer’s name has been in the headlines for various reasons recently. The Barbados-born Englishman has taken the Big Bash League by storm. The all-rounder was bought by Rajasthan Royals for a whopping 7.2 crore in the recently held auction. The Hobart Hurricanes’ all-rounder has re-signed for another two years after being a consistent performer for them this season.

He emerged onto the Australian T20 scene after some fiery spells with the ball. The 22-year-old bowling all-rounder is also an amazing fielder which has earned him comparisons to Andre Russell. He should thank fellow countryman Tom Curran for being a catalyst for his late inclusion in Hobart Hurricanes’ squad this season. The Englishman had to miss out on the Big Bash as he was called up for the Ashes tour of Australia, which paved the way for Archer being included.

Jofra Archer helped Hobart Hurricanes reach the semi-finals of the tournament by picking up 15 wickets in just 10 matches. His good deeds down under didn’t go unnoticed and Rajasthan Royals, who are returning to the IPL after a 2-year sabbatical, bought him for 7.2 crore.

Jofra Archer and fellow countryman Tymal Mills will represent the Hobart Hurricanes in next year’s edition after his Sussex team-mate confirmed his inclusion. Hurricanes will face Perth Scorchers in Thursday’s BBL semi-final clash at the new Optus Stadium. Archer will look to have a good match to impress his new franchise Rajasthan Royals.

Archer and Short grabbed the headlines in the Big Bash League this season. Both of them will represent Rajasthan Royals. Jofra Archer burst onto the scene a few years ago. On 8 July 2016, he made his first-class debut for Sussex during Pakistan’s tour of England. On 24 July 2016, he made his List A debut against Gloucestershire in the 2016 Royal London One-Day Cup.

Archer is a T20 specialist. He has represented multiple T20 franchises all over the globe including Khulna Titans, Hobart Hurricanes, Quetta Gladiators and now, Rajasthan Royals.
