WPL Orange Cap Winners | Orange Cap Winners List from 2023 to 2024

The second season of the Women's Premier League (WPL) is scheduled to commence on Friday, February 23, as defending champions Mumbai Indians take on Delhi Capitals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Six teams will once again battle it out in the quest of winning the coveted WPL title. The first season was a resounding success as fans flocked to the stadiums in numbers to cheer for their favourite players. Star players from last year as well as exciting new additions are going to make the upcoming season a treat to watch for cricket enthusiasts.

In the inaugural edition of the tournament, several batting performances mesmerised the viewers. Inspirational Australian batter Meg Lanning finished as the leading run-getter in the tournament, scoring 345 runs in nine innings at an average of 49.29 and a strike rate of 139.11. Representing eventual champions Delhi Capitals, Lanning registered two half-centuries during the tournament. Her highest individual score came in Delhi's first game in the tournament against Royal Challengers Bangalore. She smashed 72 runs off just 43 balls, hitting 14 boundaries.

Like in the Indian Premier League, the WPL also has the Orange Cap, which is awarded to the leading run-getter in the tournament. Lanning won the WPL Orange Cap last season, scoring 10 more runs than England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt, who finished second. With several destructive and consistent batters in the league, the race for the Orange Cap is going to be exciting to watch.
