Virat Kohli once again stood between the Windies and their win as the Indian skipper struck his third consecutive century of the series. However, he couldn’t take his team home in the 3rd ODI in Pune as the visiting side managed to square the series. The Indian captain scored 107 off 119 balls with ten fours and a six before he got out when India were 64 runs away from a win. The hosts were eventually bowled out for 240 chasing a 284-run target.

All the stats and numbers that Virat Kohli scored during his 3rd consecutive century of the series:

1 – Virat Kohli became the first Indian to score three consecutive centuries in ODI cricket. Overall, he is the 10th player to score a hat-trick of ODI hundreds. Kohli is also the first captain to score three consecutive ODI centuries.


4 – The 29-year-old now has scored four consecutive ODI centuries in India. He is only the 3rd player to score four ODI tons in a row in a country. Babar Azam scored five in a row between 2016 and 2017 in UAE while AB de Villiers recorded four in a row between 2010 and 2011 in India.


4 – He is also the first player to score four consecutive ODI hundreds against any opposition (Windies). Kohli scored an unbeaten ton in the final ODI during the 2017 series in Windies.


404 – Runs Virat Kohli scored in this series thus far. He is the first player to score over 400 runs in the first three games of an ODI series. Babar Azam’s 360 runs in the 3-match ODI series in 2016 also against the Windies were the previous highest.


404 – Virat Kohli became the first Indian to score 400 runs in an ODI series against the Caribbean side. Overall, his tally is the joint 2nd highest for any player in a bilateral ODI series against them.


1791 – Kohli now has amassed 1791 runs in the ODI format against the Windies which are the 2nd most by any player against them after Javed Miandad’s 1930 runs.


6000 – Virat Kohli completed 6000 ODI runs in Asia when he opened his account with a boundary. He is the 12th player to score 6000 ODI runs in Asia and the 13th with as many ODI runs in a continent.


8000 – Kohli became the 3rd player to score over 8000 ODI runs while batting at No.3. He got to this feat when he hit a boundary while batting on 16.


8000 – Kohli completed 8000 runs in International cricket in India (8043) to become only 3rd Indian this milestone. He also completed 8000 runs in D/N ODI matches (8026) to become the 3rd player with this feat.
