Shubman Gill: “Pretty incredible. Being unbeaten throughout the tournament feels fantastic. (On batting with Abhishek) We’ve played almost all our cricket together. We know each other inside out, and it’s wonderful to bat with him; he’s been exceptional this tournament. It really eases the pressure off the non-striker. Our conversation was to take the innings as deep as possible. The target wasn’t huge, and losing three early wickets is never easy, but the way Sanju and Tilak batted, and the way Dube cleared those sixes, was outstanding. Chasing 30 in 3 overs wasn’t panic-inducing, but it was a slow wicket and the boundaries were bigger. The way both batters played – first absorbing the pressure and then hitting it out of the park – was brilliant.”

Sanju Samson: “I really enjoyed the pressure. I haven’t played many India-Pakistan games, but the nerves were there. I had to stay calm, watch the ball, and time it well, which worked today. I had a good partnership with Tilak and really enjoyed the game. The conditions and the situation dictate the cricket you need to play, and that’s what IPL has taught us. Close matches test your character and mental ability, and this game was crucial ahead of the T20 World Cup.”
