Malaysia Cricket Association has decided to resume the game of cricket in the country by hosting the T10 Bash. The three-day tournament will feature 10 matches and will be played from August 7 to 9 at the iconic Kinrara Oval Cricket Ground in Puchong. Four cricket teams namely Central Smashers, Northern Strikers, Southern Hitters and Western Warriors – each with a squad of 15-16 top players will be competing against each other for the glory.
The Malaysian Cricket team was last seen in action five months ago where they finished third, missing out on participating in the now postponed Asia Cup 2020. However, the cricketers are looking forward to celebrating the return of cricket with the domestic league after a long unexpected break due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
All the matches will be played in a bio-secure bubble to ensure the safety of the players and staff. The teams would be expected to follow the SOPs which includes players wearing face masks before and after the games, avoiding handshakes, avoiding the sharing of equipment and clothing, and mandating that players, staff and officials download the MySejahtera mobile application for contact tracing.
Malaysian T10 Bash 2020 will be streamed live on the Malaysia Cricket Facebook Page and the YouTube channel ‘Malaysia Cricket Live’. Alternatively, people living in the USA and Canada can watch the matches on the Willow TV while the Indian viewers can tune in to the Fancode App.
