Michael Clarke’s cricket career in numbers: Michael Clarke, an astute Australian player, recently hung up his boots and made his last international appearance against England in Ashes series. He might well have retired from the game but the resounding images of his illustrious career will always be like a breath of fresh air in the memories of millions of cricket lovers.

The former Aussie skipper played like a true warrior and stood up tall whenever his team was in gloomy situation. 3 – In 2012, Clarke became only the third batsmen in cricket history to follow-up a triple-century with a double-century in the same Test series. Don Bradman and Wally Hammond are the other two players to do so.

4 – He is the fourth highest run-getter for Australia in Test as well as ODI cricket. Clarke has scored 8,643 runs in 115 Tests while in 245 ODIs he has accumulated 7,981 runs.

1595 – The number of runs scored by Clarke in 2012 which is the most by an Australian batsman in Tests in a calendar year. Overall, he is fourth in terms of most runs in a calendar year by a batsman in Tests.

51.05 – The win percentage of Clarke as the captain of the team. He is the third most successful Aussie skipper after Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting.

6/9 – Best bowling figures of Clarke in Test cricket. The six-fer came against India in 2004–05 at Mumbai.

151 – The debut score of Clarke against India at Bangalore. This is the highest score by an Australian batter away from home. He also scored a ton in debut innings on home soil which makes him the only Australian to score ton at home and away on debut.

124 – Michael Clarke’s first Ashes century came at Adelaide Oval in 2006. He scored 124 runs in a winning cause against England.

5 – No. of balls he took to dismiss last three Indian batsmen in Sydney Test in 2007/08 in the final moments of the day five.
