After a gap of two years, the Chennai Super Kings made their way back into the IPL and MS Dhoni had a big task in his hands. CSK went in with experienced players rather than youngsters and many strategists felt that this move will backfire the franchise at some point in the tournament. But MS Dhoni is a master of the game and he managed his resources very well to take CSK towards glory. In every difficult situation, there was one CSK player who took charge of the game and guided the team home.

The former skipper has developed a liking for big trophies as he has won every possible major trophy with India and Chennai Super Kings. Mahi’s hometown is Ranchi and he has developed a good fan base there. Before and after every important assignment, he makes it a point to visit the Durga temple in Deori. The veteran has been following this ritual since his schooldays.

The old Mahi is back

Dhoni’s latest assignment was the Indian Premier League and he came out with flying colours. After winning the title, he made it a point to visit the temple and thank almighty for showering his blessings on him. The people present in the temple were surprised to see Mahi amidst them in flesh. Captain cool is indeed enjoying his time off the field and he thoroughly deserves it after a hectic IPL.

CSK’s win ended Mahi’s seven years-long waits for another IPL trophy. Apart from marshalling his troops, Dhoni was impressive with his batting as well. He enjoyed his best IPL season as a player. He scored 455 runs in 16 games — the most by him in any IPL season so far. He averaged 75.83 this year and hit three fifties. His form is a good news for Indian fans who will be expecting him to deliver for the nation as well.

Dhoni’s next assignment will be the T20I series against Ireland in June. He will also be the part of T20I and ODI series against England in July.
