The Indian team has been a brute force in international cricket, especially the limited-overs format and one of the reason is Virat Kohli, the national team’s skipper. The 29-year-old has been on a run-churning spree and has been unstoppable. The Delhi-born cricketer is currently leading his team in the five-match ODI series against the Windies, which India are leading 1-0.

In the first match in Guwahati, he came into his own and racked up 140 runs off 107 balls with the help of 21 boundaries and a couple of sixes. He also put forward a 246-run partnership for the second wicket along with Rohit Sharma, who also scored a century. The second encounter in Visakhapatnam turned out to be a memorable outing for the seasoned campaigner.

Kohli goes from strength to strength

The pitch at the venue was hard to bat on in the initial phase, but Kohli put his head down initially and then stepped on the gas as his innings progressed. He eventually scored 157 runs from 129 balls and took his team to a substantial 321/6 in 50 overs. Moreover, he also brought up 10,000 ODI runs in his 213th match to become the fastest to the milestone.

To add to his delight, he also completed 1,000 ODI runs in 2018. The knock couldn’t carve a victory for the Men in Blue, but Kohli was showered with accolades from every nook and corner of the world. In the meantime, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also tweeted for Kohli and congratulated him for the stupendous show in the 50-overs format thus far.

The board would also be happy for the reason that Pakistan managed to beat Australia in the first T20I in Abu Dhabi by 66 runs, bowling the opposition out for 89 after scoring 155 in their 20 overs. The board took to Twitter, praised Kohli and wrote, “Congratulations! Monumental effort,”
