After Pakistan’s return from a rather good England tour, there were speculations about whether the improving Pakistan is really improving or not? The Twenty-20 Internationals series showed a 3-0 whitewash of the World Champions under a new captain and rather younger side. It was the ODI form which troubled Pakistan. Their last series win was a year ago, against Zimbabwe and they were at their record lowest ranking, no. 9.

Pakistan batted first in the first ODI and posted a respectable target of 285 for the Windies to chase, owing a maiden ODI century by Babar Azam. Good bowling by Mohammad Nawaz earned Pakistan a victory by 111 runs. The same was the case with the rest of the ODIs, each containing a Babar Azam century, as Pakistan won the 2nd and 3rd ODI by 59 runs and 136 runs respectively. A convincing 3-0 whitewash in the ODI series as well took Pakistan to number 8 in the ICC ODI Rankings.
