Pakistan continued from where they left off in Bangladesh as they clean-swept West Indies 3-0 this time at home. The Men in Green’s sublime form in 2021 extended as the Caribbean team, hit by Covid cases, had no answers whatsoever against the Babar Azam-led side. Haider Ali and Mohammad Rizwan with the bat and Shadab Khan and Mohammad Wasim with the ball were the stars in the first T20I as the visitors lost the match by 63 runs.

Brandon king’s maiden fifty in T20Is went in vain as West Indies lost the second T20I by nine runs and eventually lost the series. With nothing to lose, Nicholas Pooran and his men came out all guns blazing in the third and final T20I as the top order chipped in and posted a huge total of 207 batting first with the captain himself scoring an all-important half-century.

But like it has been the case all this year, it was business as usual for Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam as the prolific duo added 158 runs for the opening wicket, their sixth-century partnership this year, to chase down Pakistan’s highest score in T20Is.

West Indies’ terrible form continued from the T20 World Cup as they got blanked by a Pakistani team that enjoyed their most successful year in T20Is. Mohammad Rizwan, who had an unbelievable year in the shortest international format scoring 1326 runs, was declared the Player of the Series for contributing 203 runs in three T20Is.
