Paytm is IPL's Umpire Partner for the next five years
Paytm is already associated with the board as title sponsor of the Indian cricket team.

Ahead of the 11th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is inking various partnership deals with brands. The latest addition to the list is Paytm as they signed up to be the official Umpire Partner of the league. Paytm has had a long association with the board having invested widely in the sport in the last few years.
The BCCI today announced that the Indian e-payments brand will be the Umpire partner of the domestic T20 league for the next five years. The same company is already the title sponsor of the Indian cricket team and this just extends their association and involvement in cricket.
Strong bond between the two
Rajeev Shukla the Chairman of the IPL is excited to be extending the partnership and stated that the bond between BCCI and Paytm is really strong. He also mentioned that the board is committed to providing great value to the partner company.
Talking about the development, Shukla in a media release said: “Paytm are presently the Title Sponsors of India Cricket and the relationship has now been extended to the IPL. Both Paytm and BCCI share a strong bond and we will continue to provide great value to Paytm.”
Cricket’s role in Paytm’s brand journey
Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Founder and CEO of Paytm pressed upon the importance of cricket in their brand journey. He talked on same lines as Shukla and praised the connection between the BCCI and his company.
“We are delighted to be the IPL Umpire Partner for the next five years. Cricket has been a key element in Paytm’s brand journey and it has worked brilliantly for our young brand. In addition to IPL, we are also the Title sponsor for India cricket for the last few years. We had a great relationship with the BCCI, and our investment in IPL further reaffirms our commitment to this wonderful sport,” he said.
