The sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League will begin on February 20, 2021. As the tournament starts off with a clash between Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators, it seems like a good time to see the full squads of each of the teams as they have gone through some changes.

Mohammad Rizwan, who stayed on the bench most of the time during the PSL 2020, was released by his franchise, Karachi Kings. Multan Sultans picked him up at the draft and he was named the captain of the franchise going into the 2021 edition. Karachi Kings also traded Alex Hales to Islamabad United and got back Colin Ingram in return.

On Monday, Pakistan Cricket Board announced some of the replacements which the franchises have chosen ahead of the tournament. Faf du Plessis, who had featured in the previous season of Peshawar Zalmi will return to the franchise as a partial replacement of Chris Gayle. On Wednesday, du Plessis retired from Test cricket, in order to focus on white-ball cricket.

Islamabad United have named three replacements. Fawad Alam, USA fast-bowler Ali Khan and Ireland opener Paul Stirling have been named in the Islamabad United. The three players will come in place of Colin Munro, Reece Topley and Chris Jordan. Tom-Kohler Cadmore will join Quetta Gladiators as the replacement of Liam Livingstone.

Jordan, Topley, and Livingstone have been named in the England T20I squad for the Indian tour, because of which the trio will miss the tournament. Munro, on the other hand, has to miss the tournament as he couldn’t book a quarantine space for the time when he returns to New Zealand after the tournament. Due to the COVID-19, New Zealand has devised a rule for people coming into the country, which states that one has to book a space ahead of time, which Munro failed to do.
