The fourth round of the ongoing Ranji Trophy season kicked off today as some of the top teams clashed against each other to produce some enthralling cricket. Karnataka skittled Maharashtra for a paltry total of 113 runs in the first innings thanks to a four-wicket haul from Jagadeesha Suchith and the pacers also sharing the remaining six wickets. In reply, they ended the day losing three wickets for 70 runs. Dega Nischal has held the fort for them and they would love to take a big lead on the second day now.

In another major face-off, Mumbai locked horns against Gujarat at the Wankhede Stadium and the sparse crowd was treated with a scintillating innings from Shivam Dubey. The hosts lost a plethora of wickets in the first innings to go into the lunch five down. But then Dubey changed the course of the game with his aggressive batting and stitched crucial partnerships with the tail-enders.

In the process, he also slammed a century and eventually went on to score 110 runs with eight fours and six massive maximums. Some valuable runs were added by the the skipper Dhawal Kulkarni and Dhrumil Matkar as well. In the end, Mumbai were bundled out for 287 runs which was a decent total given they were 74/5 at one stage.
