We have seen plenty of cricketers who are either great batsmen or great bowlers, but not often do we come across players who are equally gifted in both aspects of this beautiful game of cricket.

All-rounders provide teams with the right balance and allow teams to tinker with their combination without looking like they are lacking in any particular department. Teams that have a couple of all-rounders in their teams have often been a force to reckon as it gives them plenty of options.

We have seen the likes of Jacques Kallis, Kapil Dev, Imran Khan, etc. entertain us with their all-round brilliance, and the current generation of cricketers certainly has no dearth of quality all-rounders.

On that note, here’s a look at the top 5 all-rounders in limited-overs cricket at present:

5. Mitchell Santner

Mitchell Santner has established himself as a key player in New Zealand’s team and is their premier spinner in LOI’s. He even captained the Kiwis in a couple of T20Is against West Indies and Pakistan recently.

He primarily bats at either No.7 or No.8 and has played some crucial knocks lower down the order. The 28-year-old is pretty good with the ball and is very economical. His economy rates of 4.89 and 7.49 in OD’s and T20Is respectively are a testament to the way he ties down opposition batsmen.

The bowling all-rounder averages 27.17 in ODIs and 16.45 in T20Is and has the ability to score quickly. He has picked up 71 wickets in 72 50-over games and is New Zealand’s 4th highest wicket-taker in the shortest form of the game having picked up 54 wickets in 48 games at a strike rate of 17.6. Santner is a decent fielder as well and is undoubtedly one of the most underrated cricketers at present.
