Gautam Gambhir is known for employing a fearless approach, both on and off the field. He doesn’t mince any words while opining on even the hottest of topics. He has been exemplary as a leader and is arguably one of the most efficient cricketers India have ever produced. He is also the only Indian skipper with a cent percent record in ODIs when India beat New Zealand in a 5-match ODI series back in 2010.

However, MS Dhoni’s presence in the team meant that Gambhir never was considered as the captain of the national team. Nevertheless, he was appointed as the skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2011 after which he flourished in the role. With two titles for the franchise, he is rated amongst the most successful captains in the Indian Premier League.

Meanwhile, he kept trying hard to stake his claim back into the national team. He played a few matches back in 2016, but went out of contention yet again, much to his despair. To add to his woes, the veteran has had a torrid time of late. He floundered for the Delhi Daredevils and resigned from captaincy. He also didn’t find a spot in the eleven after he stepped down.

Gambhir’s gala time with Aazeen

Gambhir hasn’t let the miseries unnerve him. The cricketer is currently in Paris and is enjoying the summer holidays along with his daughter Aazeen. The 36-year posted a picture where his daughter can be seen hugging a duck-statue in Disneyland. He also reminisced his three consecutive ‘ducks’ (zeroes) back in 2014 and how he ended up lifting the title. He wrote

“Well, you can say there’s something about ‘Ducks’ & Gambhirs, they seem inseparable. And I am worried it is crossing generations too !!!Hopefully like her Papa, Aazeen has a trophy (or a toffee) round the corner too #Paris #summerholidays”
