Team India head coach, Ravi Shastri, seems to be a believer of the adage ‘better late than never’. It was perhaps because of this reason that he wished team India captain Virat Kohli a little late than the others. Kohli recently got married to Bollywood Anushka Sharma. The news broke out like wild fire and the wedding certainly proved to be the wedding of the year, if not of the decade.

The big celebrities of the B-town and the cricket world line up to wish Virat and Anushka on their wedding. While many big names wished the newly-wed couple, a few names were missing from the wishing list. Among them was the name of Ravi Shastri. He wished the couple a very blissful married life.

“Many congratulations young man. God bless you two with all the happiness and a blissful married life. Happiness – @imVkohli @AnushkaSharma,” Ravi Shastri tweeted.

While Shastri seems to be a believer of the adage, the Twitterati certainly do not feel so. The fans were absolutely brutal as they targeted Ravi Shastri for his late wish for the couple. The tweet responses went from being hilarious to savage. Some of the tweets even mocked Shastri of being jealous of Anushka Sharma.

There were a few tweets that addressed the Indian head coach as ‘phupha ji’, which translates to uncle in Hindi. This name probably got its derivation from the very viral ‘Virat ki baraat’ thread. The thread had the list of typical Indian guests at a wedding. In that thread, the Twitter user had addressed Shastri as the phupha ji who is always in a grumpy mood. Well, whatever the case may be, the social media had no mercy on the Indian coach.

Here is how the Twitterati trolled Ravi Shastri for his late wish:
