Team India faced a heavy drubbing at Lord’s by an innings and 159 runs. It will surely take some time for the Indian players to get their life back to normalcy after facing such an embarrassing defeat. Their batsmen never showed intent in the Test series barring Virat Kohli and the result is 2-0 with three more games to go in the series.

Right from picking the XI to the final ball of the match, Team India was never in the game at the Home of Cricket. With the opening day’s play not possible due to rain, Virat Kohli came to flip the coin on the second day of the Test only to lose it. Visitors went into the game with an extra spinner, who failed badly in the game.

The not so proud Virat Kohli also admitted that they made wrong choices right from picking the XI and stated that they deserve to lose the game for the way they played. For the Indian skipper the only way to go forward is to learn from mistakes and do well in the upcoming Test, which starts from August 18 at Trent Bridge.

“Not very proud of the way we played to be honest. First time in last five Test matches we’ve been outplayed. Credit to England. They were clinical. When a team plays like that they deserve to be on the winning side. Looking at things now, the weather was so unpredictable, I think we got the combination a bit off before the game. Chance to correct that next game.”

Captain & coaches went hard on players?

According to reports in Sports Tak, Team India’s dressing room door was shut down after the massive defeat for a few minutes. This could mean that the team management and captain had some serious conversation on the defeat with their players and discussed the ways to go forward in order to stay alive in the series.
