As India observes a 21-day lockdown, cricketers and fans across the country are waiting to see some live action once again. The coronavirus threat is rising day by day. At the time of writing, the number of cases of positively tested coronavirus patients are over 700 in India. With all going on, everybody has been advised to isolate themselves and stay at their homes.
In the wake of this, Indian batsman Rohit Sharma has said that he will use his quarantine time while interacting with his fans. On Thursday, the stylish batsman had a live chat session with former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen. But after this, he got together with leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal for another live interaction with fans. During this, Chahal, who is famous for his funny show Chahal TV, asked Sharma many questions. Some of the answers were quite hilarious.
‘I am trying my best to do household chores’: Rohit Sharma
During the conversation, the Mumbai Indians captain told Chahal that he is doing household works. He recollected an incident which happened to him earlier that day. He revealed that Kevin Pietersen asked him why didn’t he reply to him sooner and Rohit told him that he was cleaning the house.
“I am trying my best to do household chores. I was talking to Kevin Pietersen about this. He messaged me at 12, I replied at 1:30. He asked me what was keeping me busy for 1 and a half hours during a lockdown. I told him I was cleaning the house,” Rohit Sharma said as quoted by India Today.
Sharma also jokingly said that doing household work has become his fitness routine now. “We don’t get such chances and I am learning how to get it done. This has become my fitness (routine) now. Running behind Samaira in the house.”
The right-handed batsman seems to enjoy his time with his family. He talked about how travelling all around the year doesn’t let cricketer spend time with their family, “As cricketers, we don’t get time with family. So much of touring and cricket is there. This is a time to spend with them and loads of it.”
During the conversation, Yuzvendra Chahal also asked the Mumbaikar about the possibility of IPL 2020. The batsman was quick to respond as he revealed that the only way one can discuss about the league if when the global pandemic of COVID-19 is over. “Can talk about IPL after India overcomes this crisis. We should first think about the country. The situation needs to get better first then we can talk about the IPL. Let life get back to normal first,” Rohit told Chahal.
