Even after playing 95 Test matches, Cheteshwar Pujara’s position is still not safe. He has not been at his best for quite a long time now. Team India can think of replacing him with Hanuma Vihari or Shubman Gill. His performance has not been up to the mark. He is a part of the Indian middle-order which is not contributing as per expectations.

He scored 124 runs in six innings of the three Test matches of the series at an average of 20.67. He scored a fifty in the second Test match when there were talks of dropping him in the third Test game. India can think of his replacement in the coming series and can give chance to a young guy who can serve the team for a long time.

He is yet to score a hundred after 2019. He scored 702 runs in 2021 but that too with an average of just 28.08. He has played almost every game that India played after 2019 but has not performed despite getting so many chances. His position is unsafe and there are some contenders who can take this responsibility on their soldiers.
