The Indian cricket team is touring the ‘rainbow nation’ for the Freedom Series. They are supposed to play 3 Tests, 6 one-day internationals, and 3 T20 international games in this tour. The Indian team already lost the Test series to South Africa. They lost the first two games, thus handing over the Proteas with the series victory.

Also, team India has been facing some severe problems in the series. They are being heavily criticised for their team selection, dropping of in-form players and also not backing key players. And to add to all this, Virat’s backlash at the reporters in the press conference after the second Test match. He was questioned about his behaviour by many former cricketers.

Indian opener injured

To add up to their troubles, the pitch at the Wanderers is not something India would fancy. It might be the quickest pitch of the series so far as it has an absolute grass cover over it. The ball is expected to bounce much higher than it did it in the first two Tests. In the first two matches, Indian batsmen were done for the bounce.

And now to add to the list of their woes, another player looks uncertain for the final Test. KL Rahul was injured while batting in the nets. He was hit by a delivery bowled by Ishant Sharma as reported by CNN News 18 reporter Baidurjo Bhose. Rahul was seen applying an ice-pack on his knee after he was hit by the ball.

Earlier, KL Rahul replaced Shikhar Dhawan who didn’t have a good run with the bat in the first Test. Shikhar made to score only 16 runs in each of the two innings and hence faced the axe. The situation with Rahul was no different either. He scored 10 and a 4 in the two innings of the Test match. Shikhar Dhawan might get back into the side if Rahul doesn’t find himself fit before the last Test begins. The final Test between these two sides will begin on the 24th of January.
