Girlfriends and wives of cricketers gracing their presence in the stadiums has become a common phenomenon in the modern-age cricket. Anushka Sharma, the better-half of Virat Kohli, attends not only matches of the Indian team at home and abroad but also when Kohli is leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) in the IPL. She has also been seen taking interest in the proceedings on the pitch. Also, Ritika Sajdeh, Rohit Sharma‘s spouse attends the encounters when he’s playing for the Men in Blue and Mumbai Indians (MI).

The players have been crowd pullers and it’s not surprising that their partners root for them and their teams at the venues. Sachin Tendulkar, courtesy of his stupendous abilities with the willow, was a popular figure in the crowd. The stands of the stadiums used to be jam-packed when he used to terrorize the opponents with his wide array of strokes and wield his magic on the 22 yards.

“She never came”- Sachin Tendulkar

Anjali Tendulkar, the other half of the Master Blaster, hardly attended any of his matches. Recently in a chat show named as the Breakfast With Champions, hosted by Gaurav Kapoor, Tendulkar told that Anjali used to watch the matches from a special spot at home. Meanwhile, he also revealed the reasons behind the non-attendance of his games.

“Anjali never used come to the stadium, so in Australia, in 2004, Anjali comes there… it was the boxing day test match, first ball, Brett Lee is bowling to me, I edged the ball and I’m caught behind. Anjali got up and left. After that, she never came. The next time she came was for my last test match.” the legendary Indian cricketer mentioned.

Sachin Tendulkar is presently the icon of the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The franchise has lost their last match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and are currently on the verge of elimination. Sachin will now hope for luck to favour his team and somehow steer them to the playoffs.
