With his comments after the Pulwama attacks on 14 February 2019, former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu received a lot of flak. Thus, after a lot of demands, he was also axed from The Kapil Sharma Show. The Punjab minister was replaced by Archana Puran Singh as the co-host of Kapil Sharma. However, the 55-year-old is soon likely to make his comeback on the television show.
As per the reports in Dainik Bhaskar, the producer of the show, Salman Khan is attempting to get Sidhu back. Apparently, the contract agreement between the former cricketer and Sony TV hasn’t ended yet. Therefore, both the channel management and Salman are waiting for matters to settle down. Once everything is back to normal, Sidhu might bring his laughter riot and poetry skills back to the show.
Kapil Sharma and team instructed not to speak on the controversy
According to the reports, the channel also refrained Kapil Sharma and his team from speaking about the controversy. The report even claimed that Archana Puran Singh was only signed for 20 episodes considering the long association with the channel. However, despite all that has happened, Navjot Singh Sidhu is not in a mood to back off from what he earlier said.
He mocked a quote by union minister Sushma Swaraj a couple of days ago on Twitter as well. In the picture that he shared, Swaraj was quoted as saying: “The fight is not with Pakistan, but with terror establishments”. In his tweet, “Kyun Bhakhto ?? कयूं भक्तो ??,” wrote Navjot Singh Sidhu. Earlier, he made a similar statement for which he received the backlash.
Federation of Western India Cine Employees earlier banned Sidhu from entering into the premises of Mumbai’s Film City. This ban might be lifted if the channel decides to get him back for The Kapil Sharma Show any time soon.
