The skipper of India’s Women’s cricket team, Mithali Raj gave a fitting answer to a journalist when asked about her favourite male cricketer. She was speaking to the journalists at the media roundtable when the question was thrown at her. When asked to name her favourite cricketer from the men team, she said “Do you ask the same question to a male cricketer? Do you ask them who their favourite female cricketer is? I have always been asked who’s your favourite cricketer but you should ask them who their favourite female cricketer is.”

Sania Mirza’s tweet:

Her answer was a slap on everyone who thinks women cricketer’s to be inferior to the men. Indian tennis star Sania Mirza was quick to applaud the captain on social media platform, Twitter. Mirza, who is married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik tagged Mithali in her tweet and mentioned that the latter absolutely killed it with her reply. Sania’s tweet read “@M_Raj03 slay girl … well done!!”
