Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has confirmed that pacer Shaheen Afridi’s family has approached to get the cricketer married to his daughter Aqsa. Earlier, the rumours were doing the rounds of the same and both the families had opened up about it. But Afridi, in his latest tweet, has confirmed that and believes that if it is in destiny, Shaheen and his daughter will get married.
However, Pakistan’s local media had reported that Shaheen Afridi’s father Ayaz Khan revealed of sending the proposal to Shahid Afridi’s family and it was accepted as well. The report further added that the left-arm pacer’s career has just taken off while Afridi’s eldest daughter Aqsa is still studying and things could materialise in two years’ time.
But Shahid Afridi’s tweet on Saturday clears that nothing is still confirmed, however, the cricketer hasn’t denied either stating that ‘the matches are made in heaven.’ He also wished success for Shaheen Afridi on and off the field.
“Shaheen’s family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven, if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field,” his tweet read.
Shaheen Afridi also responded to Shahid Afridi’s tweet soon thanking the veteran cricketers for his prayers while calling him Pride of the Nation.
Here are the tweets:
Shaheen's family approached my family for my daughter. Both families are in touch, matches are made in heaven, if Allah wills this match will be made too. My prayers are with Shaheen for his continued success on and off the field.

The news was made public on Friday evening by a Pakistan journalist in a tweet to clear all the rumours and had mentioned that the proposal was accepted. However, he also later tweeted asking the fans of the cricketers to respect the privacy of the families while also telling them to be patient until the formal announcement from the families is not made regarding the matter.
Shaheen and Shahid play in the PSL
Shaheen Afridi and Shahid Afridi both were busy playing in the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) until recently before the tournament was postponed due to a rise in COVID-19 cases in the bubble itself. While the pace bowler Shaheen plays for Lahore Qalandars, the all-rounder Shahid Afridi features for Multan Sultans.
