Afridi lauded the national team and also ruled out any possibility of a return to international cricket. He was elated with the recent performances by Sarfraz Ahmed’s men in recent times. Talking about the 2020 World T20, he feels that there is still a lot of time for the tournament. However, he didn’t forget to praise the youngsters for their spectacular performances. He is also expectant that they continue their good run in the future as well.

The youngsters are doing a great job

“I think it’s still a long way to go and I think the way our boys are playing is very good. All the youngsters, they’re doing a great job and Inshallah we’re hoping they’re going to do well for Pakistan,” he was quoted as saying by Sport360.

The all-rounder was also asked about a possible comeback in Pakistani colours. With Shahid Afridi, you can never predict when he may think otherwise. However, he ruled out any such options. The 38-year-old remarked that he enjoyed his time playing for the national team. At present, he was enjoying playing league cricket around the world.

“No, not at all. I’m done, I enjoyed my cricket for Pakistan, I’m playing just my league cricket and I’m enjoying myself,” he added.

His last international appearance was in May 2018 as he represented World XI in a charity game against West Indies. For Pakistan, he last played in the World T20 2016 before quitting international cricket.
