The coronavirus threat is affecting all sectors of society. The COVID-19 outbreak has led to a very bad situation all across the globe. More than 14 lakh people have been affected with this and around 82,000 people have lost their lives. In this desperate time, people are looking out for help from influential persons. Many famous and well-known people have made a hefty contribution to the relief funds set up by the state and the central government.

The 21-day lockdown across the country has made the situation quite worse but the government is trying its best to make sure that the entire country gets all the necessary items. Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly had recently contributed rice worth INR 50 Lakhs to the West Bengal government to help them combat the situation. He also went out to provide free food to the poor people on the streets. It seems Saurashtra batsman Sheldon Jackson got inspired by this move and decided to do the same.

Like other celebrities, Sheldon Jackson didn’t contribute to the relief funds and instead resorted to providing free meals to people on the streets. He uploaded two videos on Twitter where he can be seen providing food to the poor people. “Heal the world, feed the needy. Take pride in the good you do,” the 33-year-old batsman captioned one of his videos. He could be seen providing food to stray dogs and poor people during this hard time.

Sheldon Jackson had an exceptional Ranji season

Sheldon Jackson was the highest run-getter for Saurashtra in the recently concluded Ranji season. He was one of the key members of the squad and had played a vital role during the side’s Ranji triumph this season. He scored 809 runs at an average of 50.56 with three centuries during the season.

In 76 first-class matches, Jackson has scored 5634 runs at an average of 49.42 with 19 centuries to his name. He has been a key part of the Saurashtra side for the past few years. Meanwhile, Saurashtra Cricket Association has announced that the board will donate a sum of Rs 21 lakhs each to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and the Chief Minister of Gujarat’s Relief Fund to help in the fight against COVID-19 outbreak.
