Siddarth Kaul was a part of India U19 squad, which won the 2007-08 junior World Cup in Malaysia under the leadership of the enigmatic Virat Kohli, who is presently the leader of the Indian national team in all formats. He plied his trade for Punjab in the domestic circuit, but couldn’t grab the eyeballs of the selectors with his performances.

However, this particular year has been a joyful one for the Indian pacer. He was drafted in for INR 3.8 crores in this year’s IPL by the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He didn’t disappoint by any stretch of the imagination and turned out be one their standout performers in the bowling lineup. He was immediately rewarded with a spot in both the T20I and ODI squad for India’s tour of the UK.

He made his debut in the second T20I against Ireland at the Malahide Cricket Ground and finished with a spell of 2-0-4-1. While most of the supporters were happy to see Kaul making his debut, one fan wasn’t quite satisfied with his selection. The IPL Fantasy League is an online competition organized during the IPL and thousands of people create their teams with an allotted budget.

The unhappy user

While selecting the team, every user gets to pick one uncapped player for every match and it doesn’t cost them a substitution. Siddarth Kaul was a part of the uncapped list this season but he won’t be listed as the uncapped player from next year as he has already played for India. A user by the name of M.Sarosh Ebrahim wasn’t happy for the reason that he will not be able to pick him as the uncapped player.

He took to Twitter and replied to Kaul’s tweet that he had put up after getting his maiden cap saying, “Bhai tujhe tou cap mil gayi abh next season IPL fantasy mein bara masla hoga yaar,”

This roughly translates to “Bro, you’ve got the Indian cap, but in next year’s IPL fantasy league, I’ll face difficulty.’

Here is the fan’s reply:

Kaul had a fitting reply in store and he wrote, “Sorry Ebrahim bhai. But aapki fantasy team ke liye India debut na karna thoda mehenga pad jata. Koi nahi agle saal bhi bohot se talented uncapped players honge aap unme se kisi ko select kar lena. All the best”

This roughly translates to “Apologies Ebrahim bro, but not making my debut for fantasy teams would’ve been a little high-priced. Don’t worry, next year many talented uncapped players will come to the fore and you can select one from them. All the best”
