Spin icon Harbhajan Singh took a subtle jibe at veteran India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on social media after latter's jersey-sniffing act went viral on social media during the Men in Blue’s final ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 encounter against Zimbabwe at the MCG on Sunday, November 6.
It so happened that while India skipper Rohit Sharma was speaking to Ian Bishop at the toss, Ashwin who was standing behind the two was seen with a couple of similar jerseys in his hands . The veteran offie then sniffed both in order to identify which one was his and in the end dropped one of the hoodies down after discovering the one that belonged to him.
Meanwhile, as the video of Ashwin sniffing the jerseys circulated on social media, Harbhajan came forward and jokingly asked on Twitter, ‘Ash what are u smelling’ with a few laughing emojis.

R Ashwin had a good match with the ball in hand as he picked up the wickets of Ryan Burl, Wellington Masakadza and, Richard Ngarava to finish with impressive bowling figures of 3/22 in his four overs at an economy of 5.50.
Ravichandran Ashwin's performances in T20 World Cup 2022
The 36-year-old has had a good T20 World Cup so far having registered six scalps to his name in five Super 12 games. In fact, the team management has shown so much faith in him that they have decided to bench wrist-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal who happens to be India’s most successful spinner in the shortest format this year.
Moreover, Ashwin had also hit the winning shot against arch-rivals Pakistan at the MCG in what eventually turned out to be a final over thriller.
The Tamil Nadu cricketer would be hoping to showcase his best performances in the knockouts as India face England in the second semi-final at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10. It remains to be seen whether the team management plans to include Chahal in their scheme of things for this vital clash or not.
