Suryakumar Yadav latched onto a reflex catch to get rid of Shimron Hetmyer for a golden duck during Match 50 of the ongoing Indian Premier League between Rajasthan Royals and Mumbai Indians at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Thursday, May 1. Notably, this was Hetmyer's third-ever duck in the IPL in 76 innings.
A 134 kph short ball by Jasprit Bumrah was timed well by Hetmyer. A forward short leg and a forward midwicket were placed for Hetmyer. The West Indian southpaw ended up finding the latter. Suryakumar, standing well inside the 30-yard circle, took a commendable catch above his head. Hetmtyer was RR's fifth wicket to fall.

Notably, Hetmyer's wicket was the second for the evening for the visitors' pace-bowling spearhead. He had got rid of Riyan Parag (16 off eight) on the previous delivery. The hat-trick delivery was negated well by Shubham Dubey, who ended up punching an off-cutter past the mid-off fielder. With that, RR were five down with 51 on the board after five overs.

IPL 2025: Rohit Sharma DRS timing controversy
Earlier in the evening, the hosts won the toss and asked MI to bat first. Ryan Rickelton (61 off 38) and Rohit Sharma (53 off 36) forged together a 116-run stand for the first wicket. Suryakumar and skipper Hardik Pandya played blazing 23-ball 48-run cameos each for MI to end up posting 217 on the board for the loss of a couple of wickets.
