The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur hosted the Rajasthan Royals versus Mumbai Indians clash on Monday, April 22, in which Yuzvendra Chahal became the first player to get to 200 Indian Premier League (IPL) wickets.
After Sanju Samson won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first, the top three - Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav departed inside the first four overs, as Mumbai were reeling at 20/3. Chahal was introduced in the eighth over and he took just three balls to bag his first wicket. He accounted for the wicket of Mohammad Nabi, who became the 200th victim of the wily leg-spinner from Haryana.

Congratulatory messages flooded social media after Chahal reached the phenomenal landmark. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri was one of the many eminent cricketing personalities, who wished Chahal on the momentous occasion. The former India cricketer said the 33-year-old's latest achievement was a tribute to his consistency over the years.

Yuzvendra Chahal! The king of bowling in the IPL: AB de Villiers
AB de Villiers and Chahal spent eight seasons together at Royal Challengers Bengaluru before the former retired and the latter shifted to Rajasthan Royals. They continue to share great camaraderie. The former South African captain lauded Chahal after his 200th wicket and called him the No. 1 bowler in the IPL. Meanwhile, Chahal's former India team-mate Shikhar Dhawan called him the "Sultan of Wickets in IPL" after his glorious achievement on Monday.

Mumbai set a target of 180 for the Royals. Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to form with a thunderous century (104 not out off 60 balls) as the first-ever IPL champions won the match with nine wickets and eight balls to spare. Sandeep Sharma won the Player of the Match award for figures of 5/18 in the first innings.
