Tushar Deshpande paid a heartwarming tribute to mentor - MS Dhoni and father - Uday on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. This day is dedicated to people's spiritual teachers or Gurus.

Guru Purnima is being celebrated on Sunday, July 21. Deshpande, who has shared the dressing room with the legendary Dhoni at Chennai Super Kings (CSK), has often credited the former India captain for bringing the best out of him. Deshpande's father has also played an important role in his career, as he has constantly supported his cricketing journey. So, it is quite understandable why the right-arm pacer posted a picture of two of the most influential figures in his life on his Instagram story on Guru Purnima. Along with the picture, he wrote a Sanskrit quote to express his gratitude.

Deshpande was roped in by CSK in the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for a base price of INR 20 lakhs. He played a couple of seasons under MS Dhoni's leadership. The 2023 edition turned out to be special for the Mumbai-based pacer as he bagged 21 wickets from 16 matches at an average of 26.86. This season, he played under Ruturaj Gaikwad and bagged 17 wickets from 13 matches at 24.94. Notably, Dhoni celebrated his 43rd birthday on July 7 and Deshpande put out an emotional wish for the inspirational cricket.

"No amount of feelings can express the pride and happiness I experience just to have gotten the chance to be in and around your aura. Happy Birthday Mahi Bhai! Aka. Captain Cool," Deshpande wrote in his Instagram post.
