Bengaluru fans turned the streets near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium into a sea of red on Saturday night after the home team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), registered a narrow two-run win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The victory put fans into an emotional state with them chanting the slogans of “RCB! RCB!”, waving flags, singing team anthems, and dancing in celebration as they crowded the team bus on the way back to hotel. In one clip, RCB all-rounder Krunal Pandya was seen capturing the celebrations from the team bus and shared the joy of watching the craze of RCB fans.
"What a feeling, man, people are crazy. We feel we are those blessed ones. There is so much support, we have to win the trophy for them. Imagine what will happen. That was something crazy that I experienced. Loved it can't express in words,” he said in a video posted by RCB.

Meanwhile, in the game, RCB defended 214 runs to beat arch-rivals CSK, thanks to left-arm pacer Yash Dayal’s phenomenal final over. With 15 needed off the last six balls and veterans MS Dhoni and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease, the winning percentage always looked in CSK’s favour. But Dayal delivered a brilliant over, dismissing Dhoni and bouncing back after conceding a six off a no ball to guide RCB home.
RCB's innings was anchored by Virat Kohli's knock of 62 from 33 balls, along with Jacob Bethell’s 55. But Romario Shepherd's heroics of 53* off just 14 balls, including 33 runs in a single over of Khaleel Ahmed, gave a required push to the hosts and propelled them to 213/5.
CSK’s chase was largely headlined by 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre's 94 and Jadeja’s unbeaten 77. The visitors always looked on track until Mhatre’s dismissal in the 17th over. Despite being well-positioned in the game, CSK collapsed under pressure, managing just 35 runs in the last three overs.
With this win, RCB climbed to the top of the IPL points table with 16 points from 11 matches and has put one foot in the playoffs.
