India Women ended their South Africa tour on high with a convincing 54-run win in the final game of the 5-match T20I series in Cape Town. With help of this win, the Indian eves clinched the series with a 3-1 margin after winning the ODI series by 2-1. Mithali Raj’s 62 and Jemimah Rodrigues’ 44 helped Indian Women to finish on 166/4 after losing the toss. The home team’s batting was dismantled for 112/10 by Rumeli Dhar, Shikha Pandey and Rajeshwari Gayakwad, all taking three wickets apiece.

3 – Only the 3rd time India Women won the ODI and T20I series on the same tour. They won the ODI and T20I series in the 2011 West Indies tour and also in the 2013 Bangladesh tour.


3 – Number of sixes by Mithali Raj in this game. She batted in 16 innings in Test cricket, 170 in ODIs and 65 in T20Is but this was the first time she hit more than two sixes in an International inning. The three sixes are also the joint-most by an Indian Women in a T20I inning.


7 – The seven sixes hit by India Women in this match are the joint most by them in a T20I game. They hit seven sixes in the first T20I of this series.


13 – Mithali’s fifty in this game is her 13th in the T20I format. Only Stafanie Taylor (19), Suzie Bates (15) and Sarah Taylor (15) have scored more fifties in Women’s T20Is than Mithali.


42 – The 42 sixes in this T20I series are the most in a Women’s T20I bilateral series. The New Zealand-Australia T20I series in 2010/11 had 19 sixes while India alone hit 20 sixes in this series. Overall, the 42 sixes are the 4th most in a Women’s T20I series/tournament behind 57 sixes in WT20 2014, 53 sixes in WT20 2010 and 43 sixes in WT20 2016.


98 – The 98-run stand for the 2nd wicket between Mithali and Jemimah Rodrigues is the India Women’s joint 5th highest partnership for any wicket and joint highest for the 2nd wicket. Mithali put on an unbeaten 98-run stand with Punam Raut in the 2014 T20I against Bangladesh.


166/4 – India Women’s total of 165 in this game is their 2nd highest total in the T20I format. Their total of 168/3 in the run-chase in the first T20I of this series is their highest T20I total.


192 – Runs Mithali Raj aggregated in this series are the 3rd most by any player in a bilateral T20I series in Women’s cricket. Beth Mooney scored 220 runs in the last year’s Women’s Ashes against England while Sarah Taylor scored 200 runs in the series against South Africa in 2016.


2010 – Rumeli Dhar took her first wicket(s) on her return to Indian colour after six years. The last time she picked up a wicket in the T20I format was in 2010 while her last International wicket being Lisa Sthalekar (in an ODI in 2012) who is now a commentator.
