Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma finally came back to some run-scoring form in the IPL against the Rising Pune Supergiant where he made a well-composed half-century but his valiant effort eventually went in vain as RPS won the thrilling encounter by a mere 3 runs. It was Rohit’s first fifty of the tournament and he would have definitely wanted to get his team over the finishing line but that wasn’t to be.
It was the 7th occasion when Rohit’s half-century went in a losing cause while playing for the Mumbai Indians. Overall it was the 8th occasion when a Mumbai Indians captain managed a 50+ score and still lost the match. Sachin Tendulkar smashed his only century against the Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011 which also went in vain
