Though India might not be happy with the way they prolonged their innings on the 2nd day after scoring 399 for loss of just 3 wickets on day 1. However, lower order contributions were the positive feature for the team as they added 83 runs for the last 2 wickets thanks to Hardik Pandya’s efforts with the tail after they lost 5 wickets for 118 runs before that on the morning of day 2.

This Indian inning witnessed 10 of the 11 players scoring in double digits which is the 10th such instance for them in Test cricket where 10 or more batsmen scored in the double digits in the same inning. Among those 78 instances, India’s innings was the only instance where the only player in a Test inning who couldn’t get into double digits was the team’s captain.
