The 29th match of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will witness a clash between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 2, Sunday. Entering the contest, Delhi will be buzzing with confidence as they registered a stunning victory over Kolkata Knight Riders in their previous encounter at the same venue.

In addition, they also outplayed Punjab by six wickets when the two teams were up against each other for the first time in IPL 2021. DC is experiencing a dream run in the T20 Championship as they are proudly positioned at second place in the points table with five wins from seven fixtures. Thus, the franchise is unlikely to meddle with their winning playing XI combination.

Here’s the Predicted Playing XI of Delhi Capitals (DC) for IPL 2021 Match 29:

One of the main reasons behind the franchise winning streak in IPL 2021 has been the blistering form of their opening batters, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw. Both the batsmen are on fire in IPL 2021 and have been successful in giving the team a dream start in almost all the games.

While Shikhar Dhawan is the second-highest run-scorer in IPL 2021 with 311 runs under his belt from seven games, Shaw is also in the race of grabbing the Orange Cap. The 21-year-old has been highly impressive as he has amassed 269 runs in seven fixtures at an average of 38.43.

Middle Order (Steve Smith, Rishabh Pant (C and WK), Shimron Hetmyer)

Delhi Capitals’ middle order seems to be in fine touch with the willow. All the three batter’s including the likes of Rishabh Pant, Shimron Hetmyer, and Steve Smith have contributed positively to the scoreboard thus far and will be hoping to continue their good form throughout the tournament.

While Hetmyer and Pant showed their class and stroke play with the willow with half-centuries against Royal Challengers Bangalore, former Australian captain Steve Smith is yet to play some big knocks. Though Smith has gotten the desired start many times, he has failed to convert it into something substantial.

All-Rounders (Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel, Lalit Yadav)

The inclusion of three all-rounders in the form of Marcus Stoinis, Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav has bolstered Delhi Capitals’ playing XI and has made both the bowling and batting more intimidating and lethal. While Stoinis is finding his form with both the bat and the ball, Axar and Lalit have done a decent job and have made the most out of all the opportunities provided to them.

They both have handled the team’s spin attack quite well and the franchise isn’t missing the services of Ravi Ashwin and Amit Mishra. While Mishra is missing due to an injury, Ashwin has left the bio bubble to be with his family in the time of distress.

Bowlers (Avesh Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma )

The runner-up of IPL 2021, Delhi Capitals boasts of having one of the most lethal pace attacks among all the eight IPL franchises. Kagiso Rabada and Ishant Sharma are renowned pacers and have been living upto their reputation in the ongoing 14th edition of the T20 Championship. Meanwhile, it is the 24-year-old speedster Avesh Khan that has emerged as the surprise package.

Avesh has emerged as one of the most destructive bowlers in the DC camp and is experiencing a dream run. In seven matches, the right-arm pacer has 13 wickets under his belt and is the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament thus far.
