The 2019 season of the T20 Blast commences on 18 July 2019. Due to the World Cup this year, the fixtures are pushed back slightly later than usual and the tournament will come to an end towards the end of September. Worchestershire Rapids will enter into the league as the defending champions and 17 other teams will also be taking part in the event.
All the 18 teams are divided into two groups — the North division and the South division. The top-four teams from each group will compete against each other in the quarter-finals, followed by the semis and the final. A total of 22 venues will host the tournament. However, the venues for the quarter-final games are yet to be announced. The tournament was a highly competitive one in the last season and nothing less is expected this time around.
