The much-awaited ICC T20 World Cup is all set to take place in the second half of 2022. 1. Yuzvendra Chahal

The champion leg-spinner is the favourite to win the “Purple Cap” in IPL 2022. He has been doing well for the Rajasthan Royals, picking up 22 wickets in 11 matches at a bowling average of 14.5, including a match-winning hat-trick against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). He is amongst the best wrist spinners in the world at present.

Chahal will have an extra fire in the belly having missed the last T20 World Cup in the UAE. The Haryana-born spinner is the leading wicket-taker for India in the history of international T20s. He has 68 T20I wickets to his name in 54 games at an average of 25.33 including a six-wicket haul against England.

The 31-year-old leg-spinner is in the best form of his life and it can be very fruitful for the Indian Cricket Team in the upcoming World Cup if he manages to continue the good work. He is likely to be the sole spinner if India decides to play with only one specialist spinner on bouncy Australian wickets.
