IPL 2026 Batting Most Sixes
Fans have witnessed some massive scores in the last few seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The pitches are excellent for batting, with very little in it for the bowlers. The boundaries are not too big, and the superior quality of bats these days ensures that even mishits land among the spectators.
In fact, the highest run chase in T20 cricket came during the IPL in a game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings at Eden Gardens in 2024. The visitors chased down a whopping 262-run target, leaving the cricket fraternity stunned.
Batters these days prioritise hitting sixes, and if they don't time the ball perfectly, they end up getting fours. Chris Gayle holds the record for the most sixes in a single IPL season. In 2012, he amassed 59 maximums. Meanwhile, IPL 2025 saw the most sixes (1294) being hit in a single season. Gayle also holds the record for hitting the most sixes (17) in an innings.
