The Indian cricket team has arrived in the Caribbean islands for their upcoming limited overs fixtures against the West Indies. The men in blue had toured the Caribbean Islands last year for a long four-match Test series. The visitors were successful in beating the hosts in the series and the Indian team had registered an emphatic 2-0 win. Interestingly, the series was the first assignment as the head coach of team India for Anil Kumble.

And now, after almost an year, when the team is touring the same place, they are without the services of Kumble as their coach. Kumble recently stepped down as the coach of the Indian team amidst a lot of drama. In his note that addressed the fans and the media after stepping down as the coach, Kumble noted that the Indian captain Virat Kohli had issues with his administration styles.

The Indian skipper is yet to make a remark on the same. For team India, they will hope that the off-field drama surrounding the team does not bother their performances on the field. The team arrived in Port of Spain for the limited overs series. The official social media handle of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) posted a picture of West Indies skipper Jason Holder shaking hands with the Indian captain Virat Kohli in the team hotel.

They tweeted, “Captains Jason Holder (@Jaseholder98) and Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) meet at the hotel as the Indian team arrived in #Trinidad #WIvIND.”

Form guide

Talking about the form of the two sides, team India ended up as the finalists of the recently concluded ICC Champions Trophy. On the other hand, the West Indies side had to settle with a scoreline of 1-1 against Afghanistan in their most recent international assignment. The men in blue will definitely start as the favorites for the series.
