Team India is currently in England for a full tour. The team has had a mixed tour thus far, winning the T20I series and losing the ODI series. Before the Test matches kicks off, the players are spending their time honing their skills. While the players are keeping themselves engaged on the field, the BCCI is keeping the fans engaged with frequent social media updates.

In a recent video update, the Indian team bus driver Jeff Goodwin revealed some interesting facts about the Indian cricket team. He remarked that he loves to drive with the Indian cricketers. Jeff Goodwin has been a team bus driver in England for almost two decades now. He has been in the role since the 1999 edition of the ICC World Cup.

He has driven with most of the cricket teams and feels very strongly connected with the Indian cricket team. He recently picked the Indian team as the best among the various teams that he has travelled with. He reasoned out that the Indian players are very professional. They get out of the venue very soon after the game and head back to the team hotels early. On the contrary, the other sides like the Australian team, the players prefer to have their drinking sessions after the game.

“I like the lads, there are all friendly. They are great to get on with but they are very disciplined. There is a changing way in cricket. In my times, it has changed so much. Australia will be drinking all the time after the game and staying inside the changing room till 2AM in the morning but now, not as much,” Jeff Goodwin quoted. “And this team, particularly India, have never known a cricket team as professional, come out after the game so fast. This team is the best one,” Goodwin added further.

Raina helps Goodwin

Appreciating the Indian team a little more, Jeff Goodwin recalled the time when his wife was ill. He recalled that it was Suresh Raina who came to his help back then. Raina had given him his jersey and asked him to auction it to generate funds.

“Raina, few years ago in Leeds, he gave me his shirt to acution off. I’ve never forgotten that,” Goodwin remarked.
