The RR franchise had recently bought Chris Morris for a whopping amount of INR 16.5 Crores and so far it has been an upright deal. The pacer from his 7 games has impressively scalped 14 wickets at an economy of 8.61. In fact, in the absence of Jofra Archer, Morris has apparently erupted as the chief leader of the attack.

However, with regards to his retention for IPL 2022, the all-rounder might face a termination irrespective of his performance in the second leg. Because the franchise will again get juggled to pick and choose between its three marquee English players (Buttler, Stokes, and Archer) most probably someone like Buttler and Jofra Archer might receive a green signal. Barring these two, even skipper Sanju Samson will also likely get retained and maybe there’s even some affirmation for their lower middle-order hero Rahul Tewatia.

Hence, unless and until if Chris Morris singlehandedly soars RR into the IPL 2021 playoffs then the South African can be in for a very good chance to bag possible retention.
