One of the toughest series awaits India post the Indian Premier League when they visit the UK for a long tour. As the IPL qualifiers come closer, the important series has already been discussed. Indian skipper Virat Kohli recently signed up with English county Surrey to acclimatize himself with the pacy conditions in the UK, the debate around the Indian skipper heats up. Notably, Virat had a horrible English tour back in 2014 where he could only manage 134 runs from 10 innings in five Tests at a dismal average of 13.40.

However, Things have changed since then as Kohli has scored tons of runs at home as well as in Australia and South Africa. Former Australia spinner Shane Warne feels that the Indian skipper will nail down England during the tour which starts in July later this year.

Kohli to nail England: Warne

Warne was speaking to India Today where he mentioned that Kohli will have an unbelievable tour against the English side. “India faces England first; perhaps the only place which Virat hasn’t yet nailed. And I think he will nail England this year. I think Virat will have an unbelievable series in England which will hold him in good stead in Australia also,” said spin wizard.

Virat Kohli struggled against the swinging deliveries on the off-stump line against the likes of James Anderson and Stuart Broad in his last outing against the English side in England. But things have changed drastically for 29-year old Kohli who has piled runs at will at home against England as well as other strong bowling units. He was India’s leading run-scorer in the recently concluded series against South Africa in South Africa.

The right-handed batsman will depart for the UK early, it will be interesting to see him battle the UK bowlers and prove his mettle at the toughest conditions. Warne, on the other hand, would be hoping to see Kohli score heavily in order to see his prediction spot on.
