Sachin Tendulkar and batting records are almost inseparable. The ‘Master Blaster’ is considered by many as the greatest willow wielder in ODI cricket and his fan following cuts across geographical barriers in the cricketing world.

Tendulkar is the highest run-scorer(18426) and highest century-maker(49) in the ODI format of the game, and he featured in a staggering 463 ODIs for the Indian team. In the year 1996, Tendulkar plundered 1611 runs at an average of 53.70, including 6 hundreds and 9 fifties in the 32 innings that he played for his side.

The ‘Little Master’ scored 523 runs in the 1996 World Cup and acted as the fulcrum around whom the entire Indian batting line up revolved. His battles with several illustrious bowlers like Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne, Wasim Akram and Muttiah Muralitharan, especially during the 1990s is remembered with a sense of great nostalgia by fans even today.
