Morne Morkel was at his effective best this year and even in presence of Dale Steyn dominated South African bowling unit. He conceded 5.79 runs per over and picked up 24 wickets in 14 matches overall. Although Morkel’s average is bit high at 28 runs per wicket but his very economy rate is a decent 5.79. Morkel has been a very consistent wicket taker for South Africa. His nippy bowling and ability to generate bounce out of the pitch makes him a very difficult bowler to face. He occupies the last spot in the list as the 5th highest wicket taker in 2014.
