England stands at the verge of getting knocked out in the Trans Tasman T20I series after their 3rd consecutive loss in the tournament this time in New Zealand. The home team posted a huge total of 196/5 in 20 overs with help of the fifties from their skipper Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals in the chase, England’s batting depth kept them alive in the chase but fell short of the target by 13 runs.

3 – Dawid Malan now scored fifty-plus scores in three of the four T20I matches he played so far. He scored fifties in each of his first two T20Is to become the first player with two 50+ scores in first two T20Is.


4 – Number of sixes for Kane Williamson in this game. This is the first time in his 46-match T20I career that Williamson hit more than two sixes in an innings. Overall, this is only the 3rd time in 125 T20 innings where Williamson hit more than two sixes.


6 – Mark Chapman became only the 6th player to represent two different countries in T20I history. He represented Hong Kong in 19 T20I matches between 2014 and 2016. Ed Joyce, Luke Ronchi, Roelof van der Merwe, Dirk Nannes and Boyd Rankin are the five other players to represent two different nations in the T20I format.


59 – Number of wickets for Tim Southee in T20I cricket. These are the most by any player for New Zealand in this format surpassing Nathan McCullum’s 58 wickets.


156.52 – Williamson’s batting strike-rate of 156.52 in this game is the best among his eight fifty-plus scores. He scored 72 runs off 46 balls with four fours and four sixes.


196/5 – New Zealand’s total of 196/5 in this game is the joint highest total in the T20I format at the Westpac Stadium in Wellington. The home team posted 196/5 in the 2016 T20I against Pakistan.


196/5 – The total of 196/5 is the highest England conceded in T20Is when they used only five bowlers. The previous highest they conceded is 177/8 against India in the 2012 Mumbai T20I.


1129 – Partnership runs between Martin Guptill and Kane Williamson in T20I cricket. These are the 2nd most runs for any pair in this format. The Kiwi pair shared 11 fifty-plus stands including three century stands in T20Is.
