The former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is an absolute boss, both on the field and off the field. His fierce power with the bat added with the nifty work behind the wicket is the asset that every team would be dreaming of in their arsenal.

Dhoni has an unusual method of keeping behind the wickets, with his under-arm flicks without an eye on the stump or the stumping which is confused to be faster than the speed of light. He has proved time and again, that even though he is not the conventional keeper, he certainly is acing the art of wicket-keeping.

The below Facebook video, shows how the 35-year-old inflicted stumpings in the year 2016 uploaded by the Fan Page “Proud 2 Be An MSDIAN”:

Slow-Motion Stumping against the Windies

What the 35-year-old did in the second ODI against Windies, was something starkly different from the rest of the stumpings that he has inflicted. Dhoni, knocked the bails off ever-so-slowly to dismiss the Windies skipper Jason Holder off the bowling of the Chinaman Kuldeep Yadav.

The Windies, chasing a target of 311 in 43 overs never set the ball rolling when it came to the required rate. The hosts were way behind the required rate from the start of the game. Windies skipper Holder and wicketkeeper Roston Chase were the only bright spots in the otherwise dull batting display from the home side.

Holder, while batting, lost his composure when he came down the track to swat Kuldeep over long-on for a huge six, missing the ball by a mile and a half. Dhoni, who was standing behind the stumps teased the Windies skipper with a slow stumping. With the stumping of Holder, the former Indian captain had 96 ODI stumpings under his name.

Dhoni is the second keeper in the history of the format to reach those figures, with only Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara inflicting more stumpings in the format.

The Sri Lankan has inflicted 99 of them, topping the chart for the most number of stumpings by a wicketkeeper. Additionally, Dhoni has also inflicted 38 stumpings in the 90 Test matches that he has represented the country before retiring from the format in 2014.
